Shock omission as Senior League constitution confirmed
The 2017-18 Essex Senior League constitution was confirmed at the league’s AGM last night, but there was a shock omission.
Last year’s sixth-place finishers Ilford were voted out of the the league, due to “several missed overdue deadlines for League fees & fines.”
Ilford say they will be appealing the decision, and speaking to their “legal team”. Meanwhile, the Grassroots Football Show has spoken to the League, who claim to have done their utmost to help Ilford.
The ESL also tell us "they bent over backwards to help @Ilfordfcfoxes", but the club failed to meet several payment deadlines since 29 April https://t.co/eZe8GBBTQ6

But Ilford claim the fees have been paid, and are continuing with their pre-season preparations. Only weeks ago, Ilford confirmed they’d be paying players expenses this season, and made the impressive capture of James Peagram from Barking.

Ilford will be appealing the decision, but no deadline has been set on a resolution.
Elsewhere, London Bari’s change of name to Hackney Wick has been confirmed, as has Haringey and Waltham’s change to Woodford Town 2017 (not to be confused with Spartan League side Woodford Town).
Clapton have also been included in the constitution, despite the limited company who run their Old Spotted Dog ground applying for voluntary liquidation with debts of over £200,000.
The full constitution is as follows:
