Single applicant for promotion to Senior League
News is emerging that there has been just one club apply for promotion to the Essex Senior League this season.
There were rumblings earlier this season that up to four Olympian League teams would be looking to make the jump from step 7 to 5 of the pyramid, but confirmation has been received from the EOFL that they have not had any applicants this time around:
No clubs have applied to the F.A. for promotion to step 6 from our League at the end of the current season

However, there is one team which has applied which logically would be promoted to the Essex Senior League.
West Essex, currently seventh in the Middlesex County League Premier Division (Step 6), have applied to make the move up. They are playing at Barking FC’s ground this season, so ground grading should not prove problematic.
Amongst their team, is Joe Lefley, who was part of Forest’s successful youth team of 2005-6 which reached the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.
With the majority of the relegation fighters in the Ryman Division 1 North being Essex-based, there is the possibility of relegation from the ESL this season.
