Forest beat their landlords today 3-0 with the help of two first-half goals from Robert Carter. Danny Gabriel scored the third from the penalty spot in a second half which saw two Ilford players sent off for violent conduct.

The tenants beat their landlords in this entertaining tussle which turned on two first half strikes by Rob Carter and finished with two men being sent off for Ilford.
Forest went on the attack straight away and felt hard done by not to get a penalty when Ilford ‘keeper Rob Budd upended Danny Gabriel in the first minute. From then on Forest were in control. They took the lead after 11 minutes when Carter latched onto a headed pass from Andre Humphrey Modeste. Carter shrugged off his defenders and lobbed Budd from just inside the penalty area.
Forest could have gone further ahead when Gabriel’s lob went just wide. But Gabriel turned provider on 34 minutes when, after Ilford failed to defend a corner, the Forest frontman cut the ball back for Carter to shoot home from the edge of the penalty area.
Forest sealed the points on 67 minutes with a Danny Gabriel penalty after an Ilford defender had handballed Gabriel’s earlier free kick.
Ilford ended the game down to 9 men as Samuel Sunday and Anton Dwyer were sent off for punching and raking respectively.
