The points were shared in an dire match at Wadham Lodge.
In an uneventful first half, the closest either team came to scoring was in the second minute when Stow’s Callum Ibe swung in a cross which was narrowly over Adalberto Pinto at the back post.
As the half went on, Grays were content to break up Stow’s play in the final third, with the resulting set pieces coming to little.
The game needed a moment of magic, and it came after an hour when Demaray Anyadike cut inside and curled into the top corner from 25 yards.
But it was still a turgid affair when in the 87th minute Stow gave away a soft free kick, which was drilled in low and skidded in off Stow keeper Matt Nolan.
