Tower Hamlets 1-3 Waltham Forest

Forest profited on a wasteful Tower Hamlets at Mile End Stadium to leapfrog Enfield and Newham, moving out of the bottom two for the first time since the start of the season.

The home side started well on top, with O’Neal Rowe looking especially dangerous down the right wing.

They hit the post, and missed a number of good chances before Rowe put them ahead midway through the half, latching onto a long ball and firing past Will Hunt in the Forest goal.

After 40 disappointing minutes, Forest came into life in the final five of the half, Jose Agua going close from long range.

And on the stroke of half time, they made the most of their brief spell of pressure. Solomon Ofori made the most of a poor clearance from the home defence, raced through and squared to Agua who could make no mistake with the finish from five yards.

Hamlets hit the outside of the post twice more in the first half hour of the second half, and eventually Forest made them pay.

On 83, Roy Jones picked up a loose ball on the edge of the Hamlets box, slipped a perfectly-weighted cross to Alan Callaghan whose first-time cross was poked home by Agua after taking a touch.

And on 90, Forest made sure of the three points. Agua broke through from his own half, and with a three on one situation, squared to Ofori to return the first half favour.

Forest travel to Mile End again on Saturday as they look to continue their recent form against Sporting Bengal United.
