Gearing up for new challenges and “an exciting adventure” in the Ryman Division One North, Lowestoft Town have been boosted by a double signing.

The Blues have moved swiftly to sign two highly sought-after players, who boast experience with Norwich City – former Town skipper Greg Crane and Matt Halliday.

“Lowestoft Town are pleased to announce that they have secured the signatures of Greg Crane and Matthew Halliday,” Blues chairman Gary Keyzor said.

Twenty-four-year-old central defender Crane (pictured) rejoins the Blues after captaining the side to winning the Ridgeons League championship in 2005/6.

Crane joins for his second spell at Crown Meadow, having previously captained King`s Lynn.

Returning to the club to be reunited with the joint management duo of Micky Chapman and Ady Gallagher, Crane is also looking forward to working with former Canary Craig Fleming and fitness coach Dave Carolan at the Meadow, having been a regular with Norwich reserves.

He will also team up once more with former team-mate at Norwich, 22-year-old defender and midfielder Matty Halliday.

The 6` 2″ former Norwich reserves regular was released in the summer of 2008 and initially joined Histon in the Blue Square Premier before moving to Wroxham.
