Whitely forced a good diving save from Ngoy in the Romford goal midway through the first half with a free kick from distance.

Aside from that, chances were few and far between.

Romford went close in the 2nd half, but were unable to bundle the ball home from a free kick.

Palmer could have won it for Forest in the last seconds but his shot was blocked.
