Waltham Forest 0-1 Harlow Town

Waltham Forest bowed out of this season’s Ryman League Cup at the 2nd round stage after being beaten 1-0 by Harlow Town at Wadham Lodge.

It was the visiting side who made the early inroads and in truth, they should have been out of sight before half time.

Alex Read was looking dangerous, and had a number of opportunities to put the game beyond Forest. However, a combination of decent ‘keeping from David Myers and terrible finishing meant the scoreline was untroubled.

At the other end, Tunji Oyewale went closest for Forest, having a one on one effort cleared off the line.

Oyewale again went close in the second half, while L’Heareux Menga should have done better when put through on goal.

Forest were punished on the 74th minute when Junior Dadson fired low across Myers and into the far corner.

The home side continued to work and press for the equalizer, but eventually ran out of time.
