Waltham Forest 0-1 Redbridge
Heavy rain saw many other non-league games cancelled and abandoned but after a brief pitch review, the game was to be played.
Redbridge had the first real opportunity of the match when a killer ball left Geoff Mitchell in a one on one situation which he fired wide.
Just moments after, Redbridge thought they scored when Mitchell headed past the keeper- however the linesman ruled the goal offside.
Just before half time, Waltham Forest were awarded a free kick just outside the penalty area when the referee judged the last man fouled striker Worrell as he shot wide. Bizarrely not even a yellow card was given.
Both teams looked evenly matched, however just minutes into the second half, Redbridge took the lead as Mitchell poked the ball through the keepers legs after a jinking run inside the box.
Redbridge took control of the second half and could have easily made it 2-0 when the ball rattled off the crossbar after a fine volley inside the box.
Forest pressed for a late equaliser but couldn’t breakdown Redbridge who go home with a scrappy away win.
