Waltham Forest 1-1 FC Romania

Waltham Forest finally secured the point they needed to confirm their survival, but did it in remarkable fashion against FC Romania.

Ilie Vasile gave Romania the lead on 25 minutes, and despite Forest having a number of chances, Romania went in ahead at half time.

However, Forest – who played the entire game with midfielder Kubilay Akbayrak in goal – snatched a 93rd minute equalizer.

Romania keeper Lefnjda Dobre comfortably caught a corner, but then somehow threw the ball into his own net when trying to throw the ball up field.

The point means Forest overtake Enfield into 19th place on goal difference.

Given that Forest had only won one game until the middle of November, this achievement is not something to be sniffed at.
