Waltham Forest 1-2 Billericay Town

Forest may have lost their first pre-season match of the 2011-12 season, but the Stags will still take many positives from a Billericay Town side which included many first teamers.

‘Ricay opened the scoring, with their right winger stepping inside the area and placing a shot inside the left-hand post. After five changes at half time, Forest pulled the goal back that they deserved. Jeff Hammond was felled inside the box, and he stepped up to put away the resulting penalty.

The Essex side then sealed their victory with a close-range effort.

Forest will back in training during the week and will face St Neots Town next Saturday, with the match again taking place at Wadham Lodge. St Neots started their pre-season campaign with a 4-1 home defeat to the MK Dons.
