Waltham Forest 1-2 Ware
Waltham Forest’s fate looks all but sealed after a crushing 2-1 defeat to Ware.
It could have been so different for Forest, who comfortably dominated the first half. However, a poor second half performance saw three vital points snatched away from them.
Patrick Ruzicka and Seny Diedhiou both tested former Stag Rhys Madden early on, but it was Immanuel Parry who gave the home side the lead.
L’Hereaux Menga was felled outside the box, and after Ware failed to deal with the initial free-kick, Menga headed across goal for Parry to finish at the back post.
Menga went close again in the first half, while Joel Palmer was also causing the Ware defence trouble.
However in the second half, Ware came out with far more fight, and pinned Forest in their half for the remainder of the game.
Kieran Bishop levelled the scores with 70 minutes played, as a one-touch passing move saw Ware move the ball from their own half to the back of the Forest net with only three touches.
Anton Kostalas netted the winner with a long-range effort, as Forest were unable to clear the ball after a concerted amount of pressure.
Tempers boiled over as the game entered injury time, with Forest trying desperately for a late leveller.
But Ware stood tall, and went home with a deserved three points.
