Waltham Forest 1-3 Chatham Town
Forest missed the chance to haul themselves off the bottom of the table, going down 3-1 to Chatham Town at Wadham Lodge.
The first half started fairly evenly, with both sides spurring early opportunities, before Frantz Ngassa gave Forest the lead with a towering header from a corner.
In the second half, Chatham came out with far more attacking intent, and were level within ten minutes of the restart.
After Forest lost the ball in midfield Hales broke the offside trap and squeezed the ball beneath the onrushing Tangara.
Chatham then took the lead for the first time in the game, Yujuff converting from the penalty spot after Tanagara had wiped out an attacker moving away from goal.
It then went from bad to worse for Forest, as Potter knocked in a rebound from a deep corner in the 72nd minute.
Forest did have an opportunity for a consolation goal, as Menga was taken down in the penalty area. However, Hussein Isa’s penalty was crashed against the post.
Elsewhere, the Under 21s picked up their first point of the season, drawing 6-6 with their Waltham Abbey counterparts.
