Walthamstow v Erith & Belvedere preview
Walthamstow take on Step 5 side Erith & Belvedere in the London Senior Cup on Tuesday evening at Wadham Lodge.
The winners of this tie will be away to either Woodford Town or Hendon.
This will be Stow’s second season in a row that they’ve taken place in the London Senior Cup, since the 2007/2008 season. Last season, Stow hosted at the time League 2 side Bromley at Wadham Lodge in the Second Round of the competition, where the visitors came out winners in a 1-0 win thanks to Soul Kader’s penalty. The winners of last season’s cup were QPR U21’s, who beat Dulwich Hamlet 5-1 in the final.
Stow are on a run of 2 wins in a row after demolishing Lowestoft Town 9-0 (nine) on Saturday afternoon at Wadham Lodge. Two hattricks from Joden Trickett and James Collins, and goals each for Fatih Mustafa, Nathan Smith and Elijah Grant topped off an outstanding afternoon in E17.
Our visitors – The Deres
Erith & Belvedere currently sit bottom of the SCEFL Premier Division in Step 5 on just three points, with their only league win coming away at Hollands & Blair 2-1. The Deres beat Billingshurst 4-1 in the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup, but were knocked out in the next round at the hands of Sittingbourne. In the FA Vase, they drew 1-1 with Bexhill United, but were defeated 9-8 on penalties.
On Saturday, Erith travelled to Corinthian where they were beaten 5-2. The scoreline was level at 2-2 at the break thanks to a brace from Erith striker Ross Obazee and goals each for Corinthian defenders Jamie Billings and Oliver Fryer. The hosts went in front in the second half through a Jake Williams brace, and later sealed it thanks to Caleb Afoke’s goal making it 5-2.
