Walthamstow v Gorleston preview
Walthamstow face off against high flying Gorleston on Saturday at Wadham Lodge in the Isthmian League.
Stow were away in Norfolk at Downham Town last Saturday and picked up a point in a very scrappy 0-0 draw. It was a game of very few chances, with Stow being reduced to 10 men when substitute Chama Torsiello saw red in the second half.
Gorleston were scheduled to play on Wednesday evening in their rearranged fixture with Maldon & Tiptree, however that once again got called off. Their last game was a 2-0 victory at home against bottom of the league Brantham Athletic. Goals in the first six minutes of the second half from Ryan Curtis and Luke Johnson were enough for the Greens to collect the three points.
Stow and Gorleston have already met this season back in November when a 1-1 draw was played out in Great Yarmouth. Brian Garzon’s first half goal gave Stow the advantage, but the Greens were level thanks to Zach Dronfield in the 72nd minute. The hosts were reduced to 10 men when captain Joe Jefford was shown a second yellow card and was given his marching orders in injury time.
