Walthamstow v Maldon & Tiptree preview

Walthamstow host Maldon & Tiptree this weekend in the final game of the 2025-2026 Isthmian League season. 

Stow were on the road last weekend at Mildenhall Town, in which the blues scored three goals and picked up three points in a comfortable 3-1 win. The hosts were the ones to open the scoring ten minutes in through Ryan Swift, but both sides went in level at half time thanks to Wilson Bernal’s equaliser. Two goals in quick succession from Charlie Heatley and Jordan Peart made it 3-1 and saw Stow cruise to victory. 

Maldon & Tiptree took on Gorleston, who were the same opponents they played earlier in the week in a 3-1 win. On Saturday, the Jammers went one better and won 4-1. Terrell Egbri and Ross Wall made it 2-0 going into half time, before Michael Faulkner and Matt Yates made it 4-0. Gorleston did get on the scoresheet in the 71st minute thanks to a Luke Johnson consolation. 

Stow and Maldon have faced off against each other twice this season, with Stow being away from home on both occasions. In late October, the Jammers won late on thanks to Macauley Bonne’s goal to knock Stow out of the Essex Senior Cup. The league fixture took place in late November, where Maldon came out victorious in a 5-1 win. Cameron James and Anisius Lewis made it 2-0 before Callum Ibe’s goal on his 200th appearance just before half time. The Jammers then took full control, with Anisius Lewis getting onto the scoresheet once again, followed by Tevan Allen and Macauley Bonne

Current Maldon & Tiptree goalkeeper Elliot Justham started his career at Walthamstow back in 2008. 

Ross Wall signed for Stow at the beginning of the season and now finds himself at the Jammers. 

Bilal Sayoud joined Maldon for a brief stint this season before moving to Hashtag United.
