Walthamstow v Tilbury Preview
Walthamstow take on Tilbury this weekend at Wadham Lodge in the Isthmian League.
Stow were meant to take on Concord Rangers away from home last weekend, however it was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. This fixture has been scheduled for Tuesday 24th March. Stow’s last game was at home against Brightlingsea Regent where Stow went 1-0 up thanks to Keano Robinson, who later ended up in goal after a red card for goalkeeper David Hughes. Brightlingsea took advantage and went in front before half time with goals from Michael Okafor and Jake Clowsley. Stow pushed for an equaliser but couldn’t find one and the result remained the same.
Tilbury hosted Takeley on Saturday and came away with the three points in a 3-0 win. Dan Trendall and Jack Brocklebank gave the Dockers a two-goal lead going into half time, where they were then boosted thanks to a red card to Takeley defender George Pullen in the 62nd minute. Tilbury then made it 3-0 thanks to former Stow captain Joe Elliott.
Both Stow and Tilbury have met this season in a 2-2 draw back in November at Chadfields. Elliot Sartorius missed a penalty in the first half which kept the score 0-0 at half time. Tilbury went in front with two goals in the space of five minutes thanks to Dan Trendall and Darren Phillips, but then Stow came back and salvaged a point via substitutes Brian Garzon in the 88th minute and Tyrone Baker from the penalty spot in the 93rd minute.
