Wroxham 0-1 Waltham Forest

Forest picked up only their fourth win of the season, but their third on the road and their second against Wroxham.

The Stags had won the home leg of this fixture 3-2 back in August, but only Miguel Pascal-Johnson remained in the starting XI from that game.

Play was well-split in the first half, with both sides going close. Amadou Tanagara had to be on top form in the Forest goal to deny Joe Marsden, while Leon Fisher hit the post for Forest when through on goal.

Marsden continued to struggle for Wroxham, missing an open goal, while Hussein Isa was guilty of the same on debut for Forest.

The second half followed the same course, with Marsden troubling the Forest defence, but not finding the back of the net. Fisher went close again on 65, forcing a good save from Juhasz in the Wroxham goal.

It seemed as if one goal would be enough to win the tie, and sure enough, the solitary goal of the game came on 83 minutes courtesey of Stephanne Koffi.

Koffi’s speculative effort was deflected over the head of the stranded Juhasz and into the back of the net.

Wroxham continued to press, with Taylor, Harty and Marsden all going close, but in the end Forest stood tall and walked away with a desperately-needed three points.
