Wroxham v Walthamstow preview

Walthamstow travel up to Norfolk once again this weekend to face Wroxham.

This fixture was originally scheduled for December, but due to both sides losing in the FA Cup, the two teams agreed to move it earlier.

Stow picked up their first win of the season in midweek when they beat Grays Athletic 2-1 at Wadham Lodge. The three points could’ve gone either way, but Joden Trickett’s strike before half time gave Stow the advantage. Grays equalised in the 58th minute via Denim Nnamudi who rifled the ball into the top corner and off the crossbar. Stow’s lead was regained with six minutes from time, when substitute Nathaniel Orafu threaded a lovely through ball to other substitute Zion Dos Santos Sinclair who calmly slotted the ball home and wrap up the three points.

Wroxham started their season with losses to Ipswich Wanderers in the FA Cup and Takeley in the league. However, the Yacthsmen took apart last season’s title challengers Felixstowe & Walton United 4-0 at home on Tuesday. Wroxham were up by two at the break through Ethan Flack and Lucas Densley, and scored another two to secure the points via Josh Hazell and a second from Densley.

Previous meetings

Wroxham claimed six points over Stow last season, with a 2-1 and 2-0 win. Stow travelled to Norfolk on the first day of the league season and lost late on with the last kick. The hosts took an early lead just a minute in through James Moore, but Stow equalised in the 85th minute thanks to Harvey Livings-Corbin’s penalty after a handball on the line from Wroxham skipper Harry Barker who was sent off. Ten minutes later, the hosts scored the winner through James Everett. Stow hosted Wroxham at the end of November where they scored early on again through James Moore. The visitors scored their second right before the break through Asa McGeachy.
