Bowers & Pitsea v Walthamstow preview
Walthamstow take on Bowers & Pitsea away from home on Tuesday in the Isthmian League Division One North.
Stow took on league leaders Felixstowe & Walton United on Saturday looking to end their winless run of games, but it would be the Seasiders who secured the three points. Tom Warren gave Felixstowe the lead 27 minutes in, before captain Joe Elliott levelled the gam just before half time. Felixstowe regained their lead with just twenty minutes left with Sam Ford getting his name on the scoresheet.
Bowers made the long journey to Lowestoft on Saturday but came away with nothing after a 3-2 loss. Michael Faulkner gave the visitors the lead ten minutes before half time, but Lowestoft turned the game around in the space of 13 minutes with goals from Sam Aldous, Aaron Bullent and William Unadike in the second half. Jamie Salmon got one back for Bowers in the 78th minute, but it wasn’t enough for the 10 men to get back into the game as George Scales was shown a straight red card just five minutes later.
Stow and Bowers have already met this season back in August and were held to a 2-2 draw at Wadham Lodge. Rasheed Salau gave Stow the lead just four minutes in, getting onto the end of a long ball and dinking it over Bowers keeper Joseph Whitney. The visitors equalised and then took the lead in the second half thanks to Michael Faulkner and Luca Albon, but the game was level again as Samir Ali came off the bench to level the game at 2-2.
