Lowestoft Town v Walthamstow preview

Walthamstow make the long journey to Lowestoft Town on Saturday to kick start the new year in the Isthmian League Division One North.

Both Stow and Lowestoft were scheduled to play last weekend, with Stow hosting Cambridge City and Lowestoft facing Wroxham. However, the cold took its toll at Wadham Lodge and in Norfolk, meaning both games were postponed. Stow will now host Cambridge City on Tuesday 20th January.

Stow haven’t faced Lowestoft since the 2023/2024 season, where Lowestoft were crowned league champions. Stow travelled up to the seaside in November 2023, under the management of Nicky Ironton and were pipped by a late winner from the hosts. Jordon Watson gave Stow the lead just 12 minutes into the first half, before Harvey Sayer’s penalty in the second half drew the game level. Olly Sotoyinbo regained Stow’s lead which only lasted five minutes thanks to a Jake Reed equaliser. Harvey Sayer’s second of the game was the match winner in the 90th minute. 

The reverse fixture took place in early February, with the points being shared in a 2-2 draw at Wadham Lodge. Bilal Sayoud got Stow’s opener just two minutes in but were pegged back two minutes after via Harvey Sayer. Adam Hipperson gave Lowestoft the lead on the 17th minute, before Kymani Thomas’ debut goal on the half hour mark was all that was needed for a point.
