A Scouser and dressing-room joker, Shaun started his early career by playing in goal for his native Runcorn (and claims to have played in the Conference for them Live on BSB in the late-80s) and also had trials with Portsmouth as a teenager.

Played extensively in Sunday football for Edmonton Rovers, tended to concentrate on playing in the Ryman League on Saturdays for the likes of  Enfield, Leyton Pennant, Aveley & Ware (amongst others).

By 2003 he was signed on contract by Ryman League Premier Division side Bishop’s Stortford. Also had a long spell with Sawbridgeworth Town in the Essex Senior League.
