Enigmatic left-sided player who started his career as a 17 year-old at Yeading and played ten times (twice as sub) without scoring in the Isthmian League Premier Division for them at the start of the 1997/98 season.
In November 1997 Warren had a trial at West Ham and on 11.11.97 he played for the Hammers’ reserves as they lost 2-0 at home to Southampton.
Shortly afterwards Warren joined Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Purfleet and he made 12 league appearances there (four as sub) without scoring before joining Hendon, another Premier Division club, in January 1998.
Warren featured in 12 league games (five as sub) for Hendon before the end of the 1997/98 campaign but left the club at the end of the season.
During the early part of 1998/99 Warren made a one-off appearance for Isthmian League Division 3 club Aveley but he then dropped out of senior football for almost four years.
Warren resurfaced at the start of the 2002/03 campaign when he joined Tilbury of the Isthmian League Division 1 North and he made six league appearances there without scoring. He did however set up a last-minute equaliser with his hand for Tilbury against Pennant.
This caught the attention of Hakan Hayrettin, and a few days later, he was playing for the white of Leyton Pennant, also of Division 1 North, in March 2003.
Warren became Pennant’s captain and scored once from ten league outings during the remainder of the season.
The club changed their name to Waltham Forest in the summer of 2003 and Warren stayed on for the 2003/04 campaign. He started the season by scoring four times in Forest’s first three Division 1 North games and on 14.10.03 Warren was sent off after a clash with Samuel Okikiolu in a 3-0 home defeat against Wingate & Finchley. Warren ended the season having scored ten goals from 36 appearances (two as sub) in all competitions.
In the summer of 2004 Warren played in some friendlies for Dagenham & Redbridge and at the start of the 2004/05 campaign Waltham Forest loaned him to Conference South club Bishop’s Stortford.
Warren he scored twice from only three outings (one as sub) in a month with Stortford before going out on loan again in October 2004.
He linked up with Dover of the Isthmian League Premier Division and Warren made seven league appearances there without scoring.
In January 2005 he returned to Waltham Forest and Warren spent the remainder of the season playing in the Southern League Eastern Division for them.
In the summer of 2005 he signed for Isthmian League Premier Division club Fisher and Warren was sent off for elbowing an opponent barely half an hour into his debut for the Londoners as they beat Redbridge 3-1 at Dulwich on 20.8.05. He didn’t play for the club again and in September 2005 Warren joined Margate.
He made his debut at centre-back in a 2-2 draw with Slough in an Isthmian League Premier Division game at Hartsdown Park on 17.9.05 and the Thanet Times said Warren was “good in the air and not afraid to go forward”. He was a fixture in the side for the next few weeks and on 1.10.05 Warren wore the number three shirt for the first time in a 1-1 draw at Walton & Hersham. The Thanet Times said he “effortlessly filled the gap left by Mark Green at left wing-back” and Margate’s manager Chris Kinnear told the paper “Warren came in, played really well and is possibly the long-term answer. He’s not actually a centre-half – he played there because of our situation when he joined – and he’s done better than ok for us.”
In its report on a 1-1 draw with Billericay at Hartsdown Park on 4.10.05 the Thanet Times said Warren “again excelled” at left wing-back and summed him up by saying “tackles well, has an eye for a pass and is bloody quick”. Towards the end of October 2005 Warren had a run of three games in midfield and the Times praised his “powerful forward runs” in a 1-0 defeat at Braintree on 29.10.05. He then missed a match before returning at left wing-back in a 3-2 home defeat against Bromley in the Isthmian League Cup on 8.11.05. That turned out to be Warren’s final outing for Margate and he left the club shortly afterwards having made a total of 11 appearances without scoring.
Later in November 2005 Warren signed for Billericay and scored on his home debut for them as they beat Windsor & Eton 3-0 in an Isthmian League Premier Division game on 23.11.05. In his next outing on 26.11.05 Warren was sent off for violent conduct as Ricay drew 1-1 with visitors Worthing and he had to serve a four match ban as a result. He was dismissed again during the first half of a 2-1 home defeat against Heybridge on 4.2.06 after reacting badly to a tackle from former Margate midfielder Paull Abbott and by the end of the 2005/06 season Warren had scored twice from 16 league outings for Billericay. He made five more league appearances (one as sub) for Ricay at the start of the 2006/07 campaign but in October 2006 Warren was released.
He spent the remainder of the season with Heybridge and Warren scored once from 16 Isthmian League Premier Division appearances for the Swifts before leaving the club.
In July 2007 he signed for Conference South outfit Eastleigh but Warren was released a few weeks into the 2007/08 campaign and then dropped out of senior football.
