Preview: Wembley (H) – Pre-season friendly
Forest play their second pre-season friendly this Saturday with the visit of Wembley to the main pitch at Wadham Lodge where Forest will be looking to build on a 0-0 draw with Aveley.

The first meeting between the two clubs was in the 1951/2 season, where it would take two replays before Leyton eventually emerged 2-0 victors in the Preliminary Round of the FA Amateur Cup. Leyton would go on to be beaten finalists that season.
It would take another ten games before Leyton would enjoy victory over Wembley again – a 2-1 Isthmian League Cup victory in September 1986.
The match history then makes pretty bad reading for Wembley, winning only two games in 28 attempts. They eventually tasted victory in July 2011, winning a friendly 3-1, with Billy Melton scoring for Waltham Forest.
One of the most important games between the two clubs came at the tail end of the 2002-3 season. With Leyton Pennant rooted to the bottom two places of the table, Hakan Hayrettin performed a mini-miracle to keep Forest up, culminating with a 1-0 win in north west London, with Steve Shaw scoring a sixth minute effort from the edge of the area. Wembley finished in the relegation places, just two points behind Pennant.
Wembley have been playing step 5 football (or the equivalent) since their relegation, and enjoyed one of their best seasons last time around, finishing 4th in the Premier Division of the Spartan League.
