Stow to launch academy in partnership with Big Creative Education
Walthamstow FC is delighted to announce the launch of its academy, in partnership with Big Creative Education (BCE).
Together with BCE, we will be providing a two-year course, where academy students will play football and achieve a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport.
East London has always been a hotbed of football talent, which our academy will nurture while providing a high level of education. The programme will provide students with:
- 8-10 hours of coaching per week with UEFA ‘A’ licensed coaches
- full club kit package
- professional game experienced coaches to advance individual player development to further footballing career
- the opportunity to compete weekly against semi-pro clubs in competitive U18s midweek floodlit league
- represent Walthamstow FC Academy in the FA Youth Cup for the 2022-23 season with opportunities to progress into U23s or senior football
- showcase matches against professional football academies
- international tours and tournaments
- higher education pathways to UK & USA universities
- career pathways into the sports and leisure industry
Walthamstow FC currently run teams at U11, U13, U15, U18, a reserve development side, and a men’s first team, as well as a fantastic relationship with youth partner club Ryan FC. This academy will provide the perfect opportunity for talented footballers to continue along this pathway whilst remaining in education.
Founded in 1999, BCE are a Walthamstow-based college that provide creative-based education for over 1,000 students in London. We are extremely excited to be working alongside them.
Trials will take place from the 11th of March and throughout the summer. If you are a current year 11 or 12 student and are interested in playing, please complete the form on this page.
Club Chairman Andy Perkins said “It’s a great pleasure to announce the Walthamstow FC Academy in Partnership with Big Creative Education. We are both looking to give back to the Walthamstow community and this partnership will allow us to do so.
“As the young people of the area make their way in the world of football and further education we hope to give them the best in football and an academic education. We offer a recognised course that allows them to follow their dreams.
“This is the first time in our history, which dates back to 1868, that we have partnered with a college like BCE and we are determined to make it a success for, not only for us and for them but mainly for the students who we will both work with.
