Waltham Abbey v Walthamstow preview

Walthamstow make the short trip to Waltham Abbey on Saturday for the final game of 2025 in the Isthmian League Division One North.

Stow’s run of wins came to a disappointing end last Friday at home against Stanway Rovers. A lack of threat, creativity and shots on target was punished by the visitors, who managed to hold out a 1-0 win thanks to Zack Littlejohn’s goal in the first half. Stow still sit five points outside of the relegation zone.

Waltham Abbey are in fine form, sitting top of the league’s form table and are unbeaten in their last 8 games with 7 wins and 1 draw. That draw was their most recent game away at Witham Town where the Abbotts came away with a point late on. Sam Bantick gave Witham the lead with just under ten minutes to go until half time. Nathaniel Orafu would then equalise in the 81st minute, keeping Abbey’s unbeaten run going.

The last meeting between the two clubs is not one to remember for Stow, as Abbey thumped Stow out of the FA Trophy 6-0 back in early October. Aaron Eyoma and Tayo Oyebola’s goals gave Abbey a two-goal advantage going into half time. Matthew Price made it three in the 63rd minute, before three goals in the space of nine minutes from Amrit Bansal-McNulty, Abdirahman Mohamud and Kai Brown made it an afternoon to forget for the Stow.
