Waltham Forest 1-5 Witham Town
The game between Waltham Forest and Witham Town was end to end and well contested with the score line at 1-1 just 5 minutes from kick-off. Tom Wraight gave Witham the lead after just a minute of play with an excellent half-volley from just inside the area.
However, Leon Fisher leveled the scores with an excellent first touch finish.
It was Witham Town that found themselves in the lead at half time with a deep cross finding Lewis Godbold unmarked at the far post.
The second half continued much as the first with both sides presented with good opportunities.
However it was midway through the second half where the real drama began. After a tangle off the ball, Richard Worrell was given his marching orders, a decision that sparked a huge argument between both managers.
Forest continued to press, and missed a handful of chances to level the scores, with Fisher being particularly wasteful
The red card sealed the game a contest and Witham Town would score three more late goals through Stevens (twice) and Newby to rub salt into the wounds of the disheartened 10 men of Waltham Forest. Though in truth, the scoreline really did flatter Witham, and Forest were much improved since their defeat to Dereham Town last week.
