Walthamstow v Felixstowe & Walton Utd preview

Walthamstow return to Wadham Lodge on Saturday and host league leaders Felixstowe & Walton United in the Isthmian League Division One North.

Stow picked up their third point in three away games after a 1-1 draw at Gorleston on Wednesday night. Brian Garzon got on the scoresheet again 14 minutes in, picking up the ball in the box and firing into the bottom right hand corner. The Greens pulled themselves level in the second half when Harley Black’s free kick found Zach Dronfield who headed home. Gorleston went down to 10 men in added time when captain Joe Jefford was shown a second yellow card.

Felixstowe picked up three points on Tuesday night as they comfortably beat Brightlingsea Regent 3-0 at home. Sam Ford gave the hosts the lead with 27 minutes on the clock and got his second straight after the second half. Zak Brown made sure of the win, getting his name on the scoresheet with 19 minutes from time.

The two encounters between Stow and Felixstowe last season were wins for both sides. Stow travelled to Suffolk in the middle of October, but the hosts came out with the three points. Joshua Mayhew gave the Seasiders the lead 20 minutes in, but Stow fought back immediately and drew level thanks to Tayo Oyebola. Felixstowe regained and kept the lead just seven minutes later thanks to Joshua Hitter from the penalty spot. Stow welcomed the league leaders at the time in late February and stunned everyone winning 5-3. Louie Johnson gave Stow the lead 34 minutes in before Samuel Ford brought the game level just before half time. Stow came out in the second half and scored three in seven minutes thanks to Tayo Oyebola, Bilal Sayoud and Louie Johnson. The visitors pulled one back with Samuel Ford getting his second, but the game was sealed when Johnson got his hattrick and Stow’s fifth of the afternoon. Jack Ainsley got a consolation in the 94th minute and made it 5-3.
