Concord Rangers v Walthamstow preview

Walthamstow make the trip to Canvey Island on Saturday to take on Concord Rangers in the Isthmian League.

Stow took on Brightlingsea Regent on Saturday at Wadham Lodge, with the visitors taking the points in a 2-1 victory. Keano Robinson gave Stow an early lead but ended up in between the sticks as David Hughes was sent off. Brightlingsea profited from the red card and were in front before half time thanks to Michael Okafor and Jake Clowsley. Stow weren’t able to take their chances in the second half and the score remained 2-1.

Concord were meant to host Saturday’s opponents Brightlingsea Regent on Tuesday, but the game was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. The Beachboys last game was on the 24th January where they came from behind to beat Newmarket Town 3-1 at home. Jake Eady gave the Jockeys the lead in the 21st minute, but goals in the second half from Harrison Day, Sherquan Toussaint and Khris Oti secured the victory for the home side.

Both sides met this season back in October when Concord visited E17 and took the 3 points back to Essex in a 2-1 win. A brace from Bobby Kelman gave Concord a two-goal lead before Brian Garzon got one back for Stow, but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback.

Walthamstow and Concord’s common people

Stow don’t currently have any former Concord players, but the same can’t be said the other way around.

Joe Gregory signed for Stow in November, scoring three goals before making the move to Concord in December.

Khris Oti signed for Stow in 2022 and made a return to E17 in December 2024.

Others to have featured for both sides include Jaiden Babaloa and Alfie Gilbey.
