6 Sign Contracts
Waltham Forest FC have signalled their intent to start building a team for the future by putting six of the present first team on contract. New Chairman Isaac Johnson made one of his first jobs the stabilisation of the team: in his discussions with manager Wale Ojelabi, it was decided to reward the loyalty of Joel Palmer, Mike Ramkin, Tony Fraser, Perry Burns, Kye Ruel and Spencer Harrison with contracts. They repaid the belief in them by winning the last two matches.
Mr Johnson believes that the club can only move forward by keeping the best of the young players whilst adding a sprinkling of experience. He said, “Whilst it is too early to believe we are safe from relegation, in the last two matches we have beaten the Division leaders and the team at 21st place. It’s two years since we won two league games on the trot; this must be a signpost to the safety we are aiming for.”
