North Greenford United 1-1 Waltham Forest

Waltham Forest’s final match of the 2012-13 pre-season campaign ended in a 1-1 draw with Southern League side North Greenford United.

Forest started the match the brighter of the two sides, and took the lead midway through the first half. Corey (?) was able to run onto captain Adrian Clifton’s sublime through ball and poke the ball underneath the onrushing ‘keeper.

During the course of the first half, Forest had three very good penalty shouts turned away by the referee.

Just before half time, the home side equalised. Aaron Omand’s clearance fell into the path of a home forward, who lifted the ball over Ben Head on the line and into the back of the net.

North Greenford probably shaded the second half proceedings and were guilty of not putting away several good chances.

Forest start the 2012-13 season at home to Grays Athletic on Saturday.
