Ilford Manager calls for winter break

ILFORD manager Colin Walton has called on the Ryman League to consider introducing a winter break.

“The problem we have had is that there were so many games at the start of the season with the FA Cup and the FA Trophy and then we were going down to one game a week,” the boss told the Ilford Recorder.

“I think a winter break would be a good idea. I think it’s definitely something the league could look at, especially in December.

“It may not please some of the clubs, as it will mean a reduction in revenue for a few weeks, but if we’re not playing games because of the weather then there’s no revenue anyway.”
