Waltham Forest 1-0 Burnham Ramblers

Waltham Forest made it two wins on the bounce with a hard-fought win over a spirited Burnham Ramblers side.

It was the visitors who started the brighter of the two sides, finding space behind the Forest defence. Charlee Hughes had a number of chances, but was unable to find the target. Ramblers also hit the crossbar from long range.

But Forest did begin to grow into the game, and had two good chances themselves in the tail-end of the first half, Banton volleying over from close range following a corner, and Diawara having a one-on-one effort blocked.

A possible turning-point came just before half time. Hughes held onto the ball long enough to reach the Forest penalty area, before kicking a Forest defender and tumbling to the ground. However, justice was served as Mohammed Ahmed pulled off a superb diving save.

The second half was fairly evenly-contested with neither side troubling the goal, though Forest did have a huge penalty shout turned down.

Eventually, it was left to Pelummy Martin to head in a corner at the back post in the 90th minute for Forest to complete a double over Burnham Ramblers.
